Introducing Inkwell: manton.org
@manton congrats on the release! I’ve been using the beta for the past week and really like it. Native apps was a missing piece. So, glad to see some developments there
@manton Yes! Congrats on this. I’ve upgraded to $10 premium. It’s about time I fully commit to Micro.blog. Will be moving most things over soon.
@manton Woah, thank you! Importing the OPML from Feedly now (wouldn’t it be nice if there were automatic import/export to and from the micro.blog recommendations?)
Where is the API documented? I am thinking about an Emacs reader for it…
@miljko I want to do more to support blogrolls and recommendations between the apps. Need to explore this more. For the API, there is a very sparse help page here which I’ll be expanding later this week.
@manton this is very cool. I really like the tabs idea. Too many RSS readers are built for completionists and too few recognize that you can’t complete the Internet 🥲
@manton Nice job! I may use this for a carefully selected list of feeds that I actually want to keep up with, instead of the not so much firehose as Niagara Falls I’ve got on NNW. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the “Reply on Micro.blog” command to work in Orion.
@eurobubba Was the Reply command hidden, or did it not work when selected? Currently it only appears as an option if Micro.blog already has a reference to the post. Thinking about how I can improve that.
@manton Heh, Gemini didn’t think they were sparse
You are a magician!
@manton It was visible in the dropdown menu but as far as I could tell it didn’t do anything when I chose it. I was trying to reply to the same post of yours (in the JSON feed) that I actually did reply to in Micro.blog/iOS.
(Any reason to prefer a JSON vs. XML feed?)
@tkoola I completely agree! I never read every single most from every single blog I subscribe to. It can be stressful having so many unread that I usually hit “mark all as read” regularly.
@lukebouch Yes! I am extremely aware of badges and unread counts and try to hide them by any means necessary. I do have hundreds of thousands of emails in my inbox but none unread 😅
