My initial experience with Kamal hasn’t been great. At the start of the year, I spent a few days at best with it, but I kept running into issues, which eventually got forgotten. I’m restarting again with Kamal, as I feel it could be of real benefit in hosting my own apps.

@matthewlang It does take a bit of thought and extra set up — I had fair few goes until it finally clicked and worked. For me it was the difference of a server that was initially set up (but failed somehow) and then you have to run different commands depending on which state it thinks it’s in — quite confusing. I even started fresh many times. I got one project now set up though and hope to bring that to others (still itchy to go full in though).

@vincent, I think that’s why I am finding it confusing. I’m coming at it from an existing codebase perspective and would like to use DigitalOcean for hosting. I understand the guides can’t cover everything, but the steps I have followed so far haven’t allowed me to successfully deploy my app. Going to go through it again over the next couple of weeks.
