My house is almost 95, which is a bit elderly by local standards. I do like that it has character, even if it needs some major work occasionally, and I hope thatās how my loved ones will regard me if I get to be that age.

@macgenie Wow! What a house! Also, happy to see that hedge again... š
@martinfeld The hedge is wonderful. I also just found out how much itās going to cost to trim it back to dimensions that the landscaping folks can manage. Or could I just never trim it and let it become one with the house? š¤£
@macgenie Sorry for the delay; somehow I missed this! I think that it would actually look pretty cool if it merged with the house. I assume that youāre not under the threat of bushfire like much of Australia is, so you could get away with it!
@martinfeld @macgenie How hedges are trimmed in these parts: https://miraz.me/uploads/2020/e3a25f2df6.jpg
@martinfeld Bushfires, no. But we do have periodic large unpredictable forest fires here in Oregon, to the extent that I have a new expertise in the air quality scale since September. Iāll get the hedge done, of course. Hopefully the awkward phase wonāt be too long.
@macgenie Sorry, I think that we're using the same termsājust from different hemispheric views, if you will! š Your forest fires sound like our bushfires... terrifying! It's certainly good that you're sorting out the hedge in your garden then.
