The farmer next door was busy yesterday. This morning I got up to see this and thought: rural idyll. 😁

Green paddocks in sunshine with round haybales wrapped in pale green plastic. Further away and slightly misty: darker green hills.

@Miraz It has taken me many years to get used to this way of packing hay. I grew up with the old rectangular bales that we had to fill the loft with for the horses' winter. What do they call this big rolls of hay? Also "bales"?

@markstoneman @miraz Here we call them «traktor-egg» (tractor eggs). They are usually out on the field until needed, so after these got popular, the moose and deer have cracked the code, and bit through the plastic, and gets an easy meal. 🫎 🦌

@markstoneman As far as I know they're called bales, or round bales. I may be wrong though. Back in the day I was on a 5 acre farm where we also made rectangular bales. Gave me terrible hay fever!

@odd LOL Tractor egg is a great term! Good on the moose and deer.
