Having been a U2 fan forever, I think musical artists can be very public about what they stand for and against, while still being welcoming and for peace. Every tour there were always people shocked the band would “talk politics” at their concerts and in interviews.

@iChris There is something about the way Bono talks about politics at concerts that just feels inclusive, not divisive. Not sure exactly how he pulls it off.

@manton I think some of the folks on the Joshua Tree Tour in 2016? were a little turned off by how direct he went at Trump. Or maybe I’m thinking of one of those weird Salesforce gigs. They didn’t hold back in their mockery. But… I mean, he wasn’t wrong to go after him imho. :)
