I don’t know if this has gotten worse with Liquid Glass, but I’m noticing that simple context popup menus are just too slow on iOS because of the fancy animation. I’m tempted to write my own that opens immediately when speed matters.

@manton I’m noticing this too. My team builds an internal iOS app for frontline employees in a retail setting. They want to get into the app, do what they need to do, and then continue serving customers. Ever since iOS 26 we’ve been getting feedback that our app feels slower and my hypothesis is that some of the liquid glass animations are contributing to this sentiment.

@manton Everything feels slow and also overwhelming at the same time with modern software. I just want to open an app or webpage to do a task and not have a new modal or guide telling me what’s new.

And don’t get me started on the extra steps Apple added to changing workouts on the watch…
