John Voorhees has an initial look at ChatGPT’s Computer History feature. I enabled it this morning, but only for a few select apps like my web browser and text editors. It works well. I think I’ll keep it disabled for chat apps, since that’s a privacy can of worms that I’m not comfortable with yet.

@manton Interesting approach with the selective enablement. I’ve been curious about how granular the controls actually are in practice. Do you find the context it builds from browser and editor usage genuinely useful for your workflow, or does it mostly feel like background noise?

@premarcu.bsky.social Too early to say, but I think it will be useful for remembering things. For example, asking it what I had been working on yesterday that I hadn’t finished yet.
