Heads-up for Micro.blog folks: I’m been thinking about feedback on the poorly-named “Sources” section of Micro.blog. It used to be called “Sources & Cross-posting”, which was slightly better. Leaning toward a rename to “Connections” with sub-pages for inbound RSS and cross-posting.

@manton I would be inclined to make them two entirely different pages. They do not seem closely related to me, and that would make it easier to find the Cross-Posting settings.

@johnbrayton It’s tricky because both features are linked at a technical level, because you can have multiple source feeds and each one can cross-post to other platforms. This would be the first step to separating them, though.

@johnbrayton Also I just fear adding more sidebar items. 🤪 But maybe it is unavoidable.

@manton “Connections” would work fine for me. Or “Network.” Maybe noodle on the icon a bit too - the one we have now says “RSS” to me and it’s so much more than that.

@johnbrayton @manton I think it’s reasonable to have two separate pages or sections. Or move cross posting to account so it’s dead simple to discover.

@manton Sources are connections and integrations … I think you know where my vote roughly stands.

Also if you don’t want two pages … do add a way of hiding sources or ‘tributaries’ so that we can at least partially ‘declutter’ our page … lots of connections gives you a very busy page that is not welcoming.
