@quillmatiq.com I think y’all handled this in Bridgy really well considering the feedback. But I also think the fediverse community overreacted when bridging was first introduced. I don’t think it would be unreasonable to reconsider opt-out as the default, or a per-instance setting for Mastodon admins.

While I agree it was a bit of an overreaction, I do empathize with the concept of not wanting to be exposed to a network by default - open social is complex enough without “and then there’s this other protocol.
