Trying to find the humor in people lecturing me about X, as if I don’t know after joining Twitter 20 years ago and working directly with all the major Twitter client app developers whose products were destroyed… But in fairness, my about page also glossed over this. I’ve added an extra sentence to it that helps:

@manton What I loved about the old Twitter was that it was possible for so many of us to know and experience a different version of it. Twitter was what we made of it. Anyone lecturing other (former) users misses this fundamental point.

@manton I think the appropriate “get off my lawn” comeback is “I joined Twitter when it was still easily possible to read the firehose of every tweet.”
