@chrisaldrich I’ve seen discussions about this in the past, and I think the hang-up was related to the variety of potentially appropriate emoji, and the range of meanings each of those emoji can have.
That is, ✏️ could signify a post about pencils, but it could also be about the act of writing (e.g. poetry, fiction, journaling, etc), even though this 📝 might be better. And if I’m looking for posts about pencils, I might not think to check posts tagged with 🖋…
On the other hand, it could be argued that anyone looking for a post about pencils might also want to see posts about notebook paper, or poetry, or fountain pen ink tests.
@rnv @jeremycherfas @Burk @chrisaldrich Great points. I think in this case, it's probably best to go with what people are using, which is often for some kind of writing, whether journaling or otherwise. We should try adding a few emoji that map to "writing" and see how it is.
