Naming is hard. New Kickstarter for Build Awesome, the renamed Eleventy. Both names are a bit awkward:
With Font Awesome, we made icons easy. With Web Awesome, we unlocked framework-independent web components. With Build Awesome you can now quickly build and maintain your entire web site — the full (stack) enchilada.
@manton this seems like such a strange collaboration/merger/takeover/whatever it is. I'm struggling to understand the value add here, especially at the prices shown.
@kev The messaging is a little unclear… I assume Pro is a hosted version that is more accessible to non-technical folks, but not actually sure. Also that Kickstarter video says to me: “we already have enough money”. 🤪
@manton to me (and my cynical mind) it smacks of "we're not sure about this one, so we want you guys to fund it."
11ty is a fantastic piece of software in its own right. I really don't get this.
