We rolled out some improvements for uploading audio in blog posts, including a new Record button for Micro.blog Studio subscribers. When a blog post has an MP3 attached, Micro.blog automatically adds it to your podcast RSS feed. Here’s a quick video showing how it works.

@numericcitizen Yep, after uploading an audio file you should see a Transcripts link in the sidebar. (Studio is an option on the Plans page… We probably need to update the help.)

@manton Oh, thanks, I was heading to the Account section. So now we can do narrated blog posts in real-time, kind of.

@numericcitizen It’s getting there. I think we can do a little more to make the narration use case even smoother, but definitely possible already.

@manton your video post looks a bit broken in Mastodon (web FE) and logged in with @phanpy

(I know thats probably mastodon's fault not yours but figured I would mention incase you wanted to file a bug on their side)

@liaizon Yeah, not sure what to do about that yet. Mastodon can’t show streaming video, so for now requires clicking through to my blog post.

@cheeaun @liaizon Yep, I include hls.js on Micro.blog. Any suggestions for the fediverse? Safari has native playback and I believe the latest Chrome does too.
