Started watching Lonesome Dove tonight. Don’t think I’ve seen it since it first came out, but I remember it having an impact. Still would like to read the book one day. 📺
@manton I think McMurtry is pretty good at telling you what a character is thinking. Lonesome Dove, Last Picture Show, and Moving On (has characters from Terms of Endearment) all stood out to me.
@manton Do it! The book is very rewarding, though maybe less so for you than for me with only juvenile dreams of Texas.
@manton I just finished the TV show a couple days ago, and the book a couple weeks ago. I read the book in about eight days—it’s really good!
@jeremycherfas I’m sure I would still love it. Even growing up in Texas, the old west feels far away.
