I got the Day One printed journal in the mail. Opted for a boring cover, just wanted to see how everything looks. Love that they provide this service.

@manton Iāve been printing their books every year since 2016 and not once did I think to do a blank coverā¦LOVE IT!
@bbohling Maybe Iāll try a photo next time, I just couldnāt make up my mind. š Really happy with how it turned out inside, though.
@manton the āpick random photoā feature is semi-decent. Typically takes me 10-30 clicks before a photo I like is selected. But given all my entries have at least one photo it would be impossible for me to pick one myself.
@manton Iāve been considering a printed journal too. I always write something every day - have done for the past five years or so, but much of it is mundane stuff.
@Eyebeemania I think even the mundane stuff is really interesting years later. Usually itās those āboringā details that Iāve forgotten.
@manton I got a printed copy of all my blog posts from 2025 thanks to your adding of cross post from micro.blog to Day One. Pondering whether to have past years (and how many) posted. One thing that would be nice is a way to only cross post a specific micro.blog category to a specific Day One journal, that way I could send just the posts with titles, which are generally more thought out than title-less posts.
@mroutley I had a bunch of months that were pretty sparse. I think the next decade will be a thicker book, or multiple.
@frankm could you not just use the ālong postā category that delivers an RSS feed to populate DayOne using something like Zapier/IFTTT ā
@manton Could you add a photo of what a sample page with multiple entries looks like (if you have one that isnāt too personal)? I know youāre busy, so if this doesnāt make your priority list, I certainly understand! ļæ¼
@JohnPhilpin @manton Yeah, although while I havenāt tried Zapier, I know that IFTTT has some issues with formatting. I am using a IFTTT action to pull posts in to another Day One Journal.
@manton I just found an old diary from 1980. Very brief entries, but some interesting ones for sure, and even some of those āvanillaā type ones, jogged my memory.
