Noticing the Monterrey Oak we planted a few months ago has lost some leaves. We covered it during the freeze, but I think the cold and ice still got to it. Hopefully it pulls through.
@manton they are generally tolerant to freezes. The worst for them is late freezing in spring after they have started budding but even then they can survive. It probably was still in its dormant state and shed the leaves to preserve its water.
@manton We have two Monterey oaks, both very healthy, that shed all their leaves this time of year every year.
