The I-35 upper decks will be demolished soon. This view is going to look a lot different.

@manton whoa! I haven’t lived in Austin for 25 years, so I had no idea this was changing. What’s replacing the upper decks, if anything?

@joebez They are going to lower the main lanes and have caps over some segments to better connect east/west. Huge project. Should be a positive change when done.

@manton Another reason I'm happy my HS senior has decided not to go to UT for the next four years.

@manton They are building horrible things like this right now in my city, connecting nowhere to nowhere. I can not even imagine how much money is flowing the the mayor´s pockets.

@manton when’s that expected to be finished?

@joebez I’m not even sure. It’s in multiple phases… I think the basics within 5-7 years, with finishing touches further off.

@manton it is surreal to me that I could drive 2 miles to I-35, turn south, and get to where you are without any turns.
