@adam :O

pretty excited to see where this all goes! I respect this guy, but I think his views on ATProtocol/Bluesky are a bit extreme, and I don’t at all agree with him on what he says about that, lol

@adam hah yeah. I mean I’m just a teenager finding this all interesting (I seem like such a nerd to my friends lol), so I wasn’t even alive in the early 2000s but def catches my interest. The internet looked like it used to be so fun! :)

@adam 🤣 Love it. And on a serious note, I hope we continue to talk about the scope of “social web”… I think there can be advocacy for ActivityPub while also exploring other web technologies.

@adam yeah I wouldn’t even blame you!

🤣

lol yeah nice! I do hope it comes about properly, the whole concept is fascinating to me. I’m just curious why the entire internet was built so open and free, even *emails* are. yet social media just ended up in these centrlalised companies? i think email has shown us you can run a good, easy to use (with work done!) products for mass consumers, built on open standards. could just be me, but we’ll see where this all goes.

@adam IT folk could start an argument in an empty room when it comes to the names of things.

Just waiting for someone to tell them "actually what you mean to say is the GNU/Social Web"
