On today’s episode of Core Intuition, @danielpunkass and I follow up about renaming my Twitter account and also discuss what impact an onboarding change in Micro.blog might have.

@manton is the crossposting plan going away for existing crossposting accounts? This would be very disappointing I want to use my personal blog but also want the crossposting.

@msroest It's going away for new customers, but if you're already on the cross-posting plan, the price won't change. I wrote a blog post here that describes more about why we're making the change and how it'll work.

@manton @danielpunkass As well as the "free" WP plans coming with ads, there's also another difference: the lack of monthly plans. This was a key difference for me and one of the reasons I was able to go all-in on Micro.blog at all. Considering the spread of activity from the people at WordPress (.org, Jetpack, etc) it still surprises me to see that they find no value in the flexibility of offering a monthly subscription.

@frostedechoes Same here, yep. They left a pretty big hole between self-hosted and basic hosting.
