After I made some Nostr improvements in M.b the other day, I caught up on a few conference videos to see what the community has been up to. Fascinated by this video of Jack explaining Nostr. It’s like a reset, going from a powerful social media CEO to just a dude hanging out at conferences again.
@manton On Jack Dorsey’s point that in the age of AI, it’s important to own your identity and content… For me it goes back to trust, and why personal blogs will be more valuable than algorithmic or retweeted posts from strangers. Lean in to the human voice and relationships with readers.
@manton Nostr is interesting tech to me and I think it’s worth keeping an eye on as an evolving open technology. I agree with Jack that it’s important to own your identity and content. However, I don’t buy his idea that Nostr and its private key mechanism will help with AI. After all, AI bots could easily create their own keys and fake identities. Humans could also give their keys to AI.
Maybe he sees something that I’m missing?
