Really wish React Native didn’t use Ruby and CocoaPods. It’s past time for a cleaner build toolchain with fewer dependencies.
@manton IMHO, start by changing the “do-everything-with-JavaScript” attitude. SwiftUI and JetPack Cpmpose are almost totally equivalent functionally. Swift & Kotlin are reasonable modern languages, easy enough to use. Your mileage might vary, though.
@lofdev.bsky.social Yeah, we have too many apps now to maintain them natively for each platform with so few developers. Overall I think the JS approach is working. Still AppKit for Mac.
