This post from @jsonbecker is going to be timeless, because as a society we increasingly let social media amplify each side of an issue until it’s out of proportion with the facts:

@manton Yeah, I had to save that post to use as reference material in the future. There are a small number of things that are not debatable, but there are a whole lot more where it's just uncomfortable to ask questions in trying to get to a position one can justify in their own mind.

@manton hah - yes .. I read it and immediately posted it into a large network I belong to .. a network where a lot of that goes on … despite their claims. So far not even a like.

Not sure if that’s good or bad .. that will be tested by any behavioral change.

@manton A very good post, and it's a shame that this property of social media makes it difficult to express a more nuanced position (or at least without spending a lot of energy in doing so).
