@manton I get that likes and reposts do not stimulate conversations, but I recently noticed that it also affects other Fediverse accounts I'm following. I can't see what people outside Micro.blog are reposting. What are your toughs on making at least "external" reposts visible?

@vladcampos I have mixed feelings. Personally, I don't like to see reposts, but I might be the minority… I think we need a preference to control this for people who do want to see them.

@manton That's an interesting solution that would probably make everyone happy. As for the reposting, there's good reposting. Some people I follow repost content related to what they usually share, and I see a lot of value in that. It's a good way to learn more about a topic. As for the ones who repost 'just because', I always unfollow them. I believe in constantly curating the timeline. That's what make it a good experience, in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm constantly considering centralizing my Fediverse presence on Micro.blog, specially because the handle has my domain name. I even simulate it, following every account I follow on Mastodon, and that's why I can tell I really like the reposts. It's something I miss a lot when reading from Micro.blog's timeline.
