Threads is enabling more of their fediverse support today. To be clear, you can follow Threads accounts from Mastodon or Micro.blog, but you can’t follow those external platforms from within Threads. According to Meta’s blog post, getting outside content into Threads is an “in the future” thing.

@manton I figured it out. You need to search for usernames like this: @username@threads.net

@christopherchelpka Yep. I just noticed that Micro.blog collapsed my example so it wasn't clear.

@manton it doesn’t seem like many people are sharing so far. The only usernames I’ve been able to find are yours and Adam Mosseri’s lol

@christopherchelpka Yeah, I don't think the opt-in setting is very visible or well-understood by most users yet. Will be interesting to see if that changes.
