As long as she has support and money, Nikki Haley should stay in the race. I don’t think she’s in it for VP. It’s more to be the alternative if everything implodes. Such a difficult path, though, because too many delegates will be awarded before Trump’s trial starts in DC, if it even starts on time.

@manton I think her best bet is either the Supreme Court disqualifying trump or him suffering a major medical issue, the criminal trials are going to take too long

@manton On this logic I am surprised DeSantis got out. Just keep collecting delegates that can be leveraged in a contested convention if Trump dies—let's be honest, he or Biden could go before November at their age—or implodes. The pressure to circle the wagons was too much for him. Haley may have to eventually as well, but she might as well just stay in the race and say "I want to earn every vote" or "I want him to earn every vote."

@mkristensson It's a long-shot, but if the trial starts in March or April, that still leaves a couple months before the convention... Probably too late, though.

@lukemperez Seems like DeSantis burned through all his cash betting on Iowa. I'm not even sure his heart was really in the race.

@manton My money is on that she’s out by Wednesday and endorses Trump just like Desantis.

@jimmitchell @manton He can’t be VP unless Trump changes his residency from Florida. He’s also unlikely to get the VP nod (I’m here a lot of bad blood between the two camps). Cabinet spot isn’t out of the question; nor is just looking like a team player in case actuary tables do their thing.

@manton seems right. He seems to have saw the polls we all did that showed him way up and convinced himself it would be easy but didn’t have a plan for when it got hard.

@manton what worries me most is that Trump gets convicted, wins the presidency in jail, and pardons himself because he can. It might start a revolution if cooler heads don’t prevail.

And even then, the separation will continue as it has done for years. Trump is just a symptom of the political divide that should be repaired to prevent lunacy to take over political affairs in the future. I mean, which democracy even assumes a suspected criminal is a good candidate for presidency? That’s unheard of!

@manton
I am not an American, so i cannot donate to a campaign. But I have enough friends and colleagues in the US who can. So for the last two elections I was donating (through them) to Burnie Sanders.

This time I am asking my friends what is the best way to spend money against Nikki and against Joe. They are disaster for Europe and for the world. Perhaps for the galaxy too.
