Camping at Calico Ghost Town. Didn’t get here much past 5pm and it was already dark. There are over a hundred camping spots but only a couple other people here, far away, so it feels like just me and rocks and the wind. 👻

Light on my fan and jug of water on the ground, casting shadows.

@manton One of the first places I camped as a young scout. We slept under the stars. I stayed awake for hours watching the sky in wonder and awe.

@manton been there too! We didn’t do the mine tour, though. If still there, check out Peggy Sue’s Diner, nearby.

@dejus I need to remember to read your blog for extra research before I visit somewhere. 🙂

@manton heh. It’s nice to be accumulating a knowledge base of various areas. We will have at least visited part of every continental state (and their national parks) within the next two years.

@abrahamson Yes, it’s this product on Amazon. I love it and ordered a second one. Can charge a phone, has a light obviously, different fan speeds.

@manton oh wow, I got 2 of something similar from a Walmart in Colorado over the summer for our RV.

Used them at an outdoor concert and the beach campsite

@manton When I lived in DC we would always go to Shenandoah to camp on Indigenous Peoples Day weekend. Most people don’t have that Monday off, so after everyone left on Sunday morning we’d be pretty much alone in the mountains. Easily some of my favorite times.
