@manton Looking forward to it... Do you have a list of micro.blog features already committed to? Have a few ideas but don't want to suggest things that are already in the works...

@tchambers There's not really a list in one place yet. Don't hesitate to suggest improvements, even if we've already heard them. That helps us prioritize.

@manton not one place? Does that mean you don't give special consideration to folks who take the time to file an issue at GitHub? In that case, hashtags, please.

@tbc Not everyone uses GitHub so we're happy to get feedback anywhere, but I do appreciate it when someone files a bug for us! For hashtags, I wrote a little here about why we don't currently have them. I want to keep expanding search and the Discover sections first.

@manton I agree Search is my top item. Love Discover but hashtags are part of Search for me (tags in general).

@manton curious: what do hashtags add over using blog-style tags, or just searching on a term? Is it the user’s intentionality of contributing to a specific conversation topic, set apart by the inclusion of the ‘#’? Does it make searching easier? (Is there a LMGTFY answer? :)

@jamesdasher Yeah, search/discovery is mostly why people like them, but there are downsides as well. I think there are other ways we can improve discovery.

@Marty @manton That’s interesting. I don’t really think of tags as part of search but almost as the alternative to search. As for search itself, I’m sure this is not the ideal method, but I’ve been using Google a lot with “site:micro.blog”.

@artkavanagh @manton @jamesdasher @Marty all good insights re. hashtags. Word of The Day: folksonomy. duckduckgo.com

Then there's the semantic web. Too deep for today. Pun intended. Finding and classifying needs more thought, for sure.
