@manton I’ve been reading about Nostr and some of the projects built with it and agree it’s fascinating. I can’t help but compare Nostr to BlueSky and AP/Mastodon, and I’m not sure yet how that comparison shakes out.
So far, feels like BlueSky and Mastodon are more tightly around social networking/microblogging. While Nostr is more a protocol of real time transmission that you can built many types of apps on. But not sure this is a fair look.
I wonder if any of these will become polished enough that they are easier to use than say RSS. This has been on my mind since I found out some of my friends were surprised that I blog and seemed interesting in following it. I don’t post from my blog to any of the social networks we have in common…so aside from RSS there’s no good way for them to keep up with new posts.
