I’ve posted more than most users on micro.blog’s discover tab. Definitely isn’t based on post frequency. 🤔

@jthingelstad pretty certain it is a hand curated list, not automated nor algorithmic — it has remained steady since day one of Micro.blog, more or less, as far as I can tell.

@jthingelstad yeah, not sure what gets one on this list. For me the list rarely changes. Still the same users when @Manton started the discover thing.

@renem @jthingelstad It's not an algorithm. I have to just add people manually. :-) I need to take some time to update it.

@manton I am still unsure how I get my own domain to work wwith this. I am working on getting hosting so I can implement more indieweb stuff on my site. But like, once I get it set up do I have to post on wordpress to show up on micro.blog? Or can I post in the app and have it be setn to my site via syndicate?

@iamJeffPerry If you want the posts to go to WordPress, just add your WordPress RSS feed under Account -> Edit Feeds, and then set the iOS app to post directly to WordPress (under Settings). Lemme know if you have any questions.

@manton Sounds good. I am just worried I won't get the indieweb stuff set up correctly on my Wordpress. Also, I am pretty much iPad only so learning how to publish stuff on iOS is going to be a fun learning curve!

@manton suggested user lists are a necessary evil. Always a hard one. Would be nice to have transparancy in the community for how they work.
