@mrbeefy I bought a pretty cheap e-bike from Walmart last year and love it. Game-changer for biking anywhere there are hills.

@mrbeefy It was by Hyper. Here's a link. Note that I don't necessary recommend this, because there are better e-bikes out there. But for the price I love it.

@mrbeefy @manton I recently jettisoned my car for a fat-tire ebike and I am consistently delighted; I go about my day to day with it as my main personal mobility gear. The technology trickle down eventually yields tools of personal empowerment and this is one of the best.

Hills. Apart from being made of sugar (and so reluctant to be out in the rain too long), I cannot say that I enjoy uphill grades when cycling. Well, now with literally the touch of a button, I am whisked along 15mph+, and, this is important, I am still pedaling so I get the fitness AND the jetson route times. Awesome like a hot dog.

My bet is that prices will continue to drop and features will continue to become "defaults". Not to mention the species differentiation. MTB's, and fat-tire cruisers, and scooters, and one-wheelers, all running on sweat and electron flows. Good gravy, you mean to tell me that for a 1/20th of the price of four-wheels strapped to a flame-belcher I can get around the city, go places car's cannnot, refill my batts at any standard outlet, see the world around me at pace, AND get healthier as part of the bargain?

The future is here, it is just not evenly distributed yet.
