I don’t want to jinx it, but Micro.blog has been pretty stable and fast lately for me. Of course, could always be better. Just submitted an iOS update to Apple to approve for beta testing. Anything on iOS that you think needs attention?

@manton A pink icon? 😁 Seriously though, Mb has been pretty fast lately , thank you. Even when making CSS changes to the theme they show up faster too.
@manton As far as features, I think the main thing missing on iOS is a friendlier reply UI (similar to Sunlit and Gluon).
If you’re looking for issues with the iPad, I have a few, though I was going to post them to GitHub/Help.
@manton I want to attach images from Files, etc. not just Camera roll. Sharing a file to MicroBlog just makes useless local links.
@SciPhi Got it, thanks. You can upload from Files in the Uploads section of the app, but not from the main post window, that’s true. I’m curious: do you manage all your photos in Files, or are you thinking screenshots and non-photos?
@gr36 I have thought about it! Not for this release, but it is tempting to make a corner of the iOS app work like Goodreads. For bookmarks, what can’t you do on iOS?
@mdrockwell I’m letting @gluon pave the way here. But it uses the Micro.blog API, so eventually we can sync up.
@gr36 Ah, you’re right. Thanks!
@manton With this in mind, I think the link to the page for the macOS app is broken. I was looking to download it on my new computer but couldn’t reach it.
@sku_b Hmm, where is that link? I think it was broken last week but should be fixed. Let me know if I missed something.
@manton I have trouble with the share sheet sometimes when it comes to pictures. Sunlit handles it better.
@manton Thanks! It seem to have stabilized (for me, at least) the last days. Everything running quickly and without posts not showing up.
What I would love for the iOS version next is:
Showing the message you are replying to on the same screen as your reply. (I quickly forget parts of the post that I’m replying to). I guess this is a multiple-day task to accomplish, but I’m hoping for it.
A fix for the share sheet, so that newly taken screenshots can be shared directly, without having to save them to Pictures first, and then posting from the iOS app. (Also share sheet sharing from Pictures doesn’t seem to work for me).
Thanks for all the good work! I’m thoroughly enjoying this place. 😊
@mdrockwell @manton Yes! My number one biggest issue. This bugs me every single time I use the app.
@Thomas_U I’m still waiting for Apple to approve the latest beta… I’ll post a TestFlight invite link when it’s ready, probably tomorrow.
@manton I’ve been thinking about if there’s a nicer way to handle what is effectively “subtweeting”.
@manton I know there’s a thousand things that could clutter the post screen, but I’d love an easily-accessible toggle to send/not send to Twitter.
Another thing would be threading of posts. I get the idea that a thread should really just be a longer blog post, but sometimes I like to tie two separate, but related ideas together or I may think of something later on I’d like to add to the original thought.
@paulrobertlloyd I think I’m going to hold off until WWDC to see if Apple makes this a built-in feature for alerts, otherwise I’ll tackle it. Thanks for the reminder.
