@felixp7 (re Walled gardens in disguise) I read your blog post in full and find your point of view rather interesting. I never considered Micro.blog to be a “walled garden”, but now that you mention it I can see why you say that, and I agree. After a few weeks of my joining I also noticed that the so-called “Timeline” just became full of “curated” posts that are “managed” / “controlled” by a few small no. of “community managers”. This in and of itself can lead to bias and all the pitfalls that comes with. : twtxt.net

@prologic I think the timeline is just a straight list of who you follow, the discover list is curated but as far as I know the emoji lists are not. CC @macgenie

@prologic Just to be totally clear, what @johnjohnston and @maique said is right, your timeline is who you follow, not curated. Some of the concerns in that “walled garden” post (like anonymous accounts) don’t seem relevant to Micro.blog. I’ll keep this in mind as we improve the help and try to better explain how Micro.blog works, though!
