This is cool: sodir.org is a browser for blogs that use SocialSpec.

Heck. I might have to blink and think that over.

@manton is there a plugin to create the contact.vcf and about.md?

@rom Yep, look in the plug-in directory for “SocialSpec”. That’ll create both automatically, with a settings option to add your email address to contact.cvf if you want. This might turn into a built-in feature later.

@manton Is there a way to set which page is your “About” page. I renamed mine “About Bob” so SocialSpec doesn’t pick it up. Maybe a setting in the plugin?

@manton I’m still thinking it should be more like this suggestion or else risk just becoming another competing isolated building stone that duplicates rather than integrates (as has been the story so many times for decentralized social networks over the past 15+ years)

I added a comment to the RFC, sadly not able to do much more until December. /cc @calebhailey.com

@manton.org Thanks for starting that discussion! I agree, and I mentioned something similar to @calebhailey.com earlier about using rel links. I’ll catch up on that thread.

@bobwertz We could add a setting. In the meantime, you could also rename the path to just “/about” even if the title remains “About Bob”. There’s an option when editing a page on the web to just change the path.
