Automattic acquires Day One. Smart. I’ve been thinking a lot about how (or when) to combine my private journals with my public blog. I’ll be curious to see if Day One adapts to anything in WordPress.

@manton I know that Day One had a web interface at one point in time but had taken it down. With more resources that are familiar to how blogs work, I wouldn't be surprised if something like it was attempted.
@mandaris Yeah, you used to be able to publish a journal entry to the web and they would host it, right? That seems like a natural thing to bring back.
@manton I’m a little worried. I like Day One for its privacy features. What changes will be made now?
@manton I would like to see Automattic making it easier to get stuff into Day One. I’ve got an IFTTT rule which automatically archives blog posts into a journal. It sort of works but it’s far from perfect: no images, and all formatting removed. Having a real API would be nice here.
@manton whoa, nice acquisition! I have been thinking about renewing my subscription. Might wait a bit now.
@manton seems like a good development for the app and team, though I’m sure some customers will be anxious
@frostedechoes Has that been posted about somewhere in detail, I’d be interested in reading more about it.
