There are times when showing people alternative platforms like Micro.blog and Glass, that it feels as if you’re offering people a way out of the Matrix.

@SimonWoods @maique Is Glass a social site, or a place to keep your photos? I'm looking for a low-key place to keep and organize photos and occasionally share some. Or maybe I'm better off with Flickr?

@SimonWoods Thanks! Turns out it's one of the many things I have no use for.

@annahavron I would put it on the social side. For the use you describe I think Flickr is more than enough, and probably even better than Glass. I use Flickr myself, mostly for storage these days, but share occasionally. I find it perfect for that.

@maique @annahavron I agree. Flickr is great for organizing/curating/sharing, especially when one of your use cases is sharing via personal link. You can nicely segment who can do and see what. It doesn’t have the built-in social network anymore because many people left for Instagram, but that’s OK. It is on the expensive side tho.

@annahavron I've enjoyed the calm reliability of Flickr since mid-2004.

@annahavron @simonwoods @maique Glass (and Vero) are places to show your photos. I you want to store and organize I would suggest something like Smugmug or Flickr (there are others but I haven't tried them).

@SimonWoods What is Glass? I tried searching for "glass, blogging" but it didn't seem to give me anything related to what you might be talking about?
