Regarding today’s Apple event, I think I’ll skip it. Still using my trusty iPhone X, and a very old (2012) MacBook Air. The laptop needs replacing but… monies!

@maique I will be watching the event, but not with any intention to buy. My iPhone 7 is still going strong after I replaced its battery last month and I don't need or want a smartwatch.

@jeroensangers You reminded me I probably should look into a new battery as well 😅 And I'm sure I'll be able to get the gist of the whole thing by coming here after the event is done 🤣

@maique Ha, totally missed the announcement about the Apple event. I'll skip today too and spend time with my family instead.

@vincent That's a great plan, and very similar (I'd say totally the same!) to my own plan for the afternoon... 🥰

@maique @vincent Apple themselves provide a 1 minute summary video after the event. That’s enough for me to know what has happened.

@simonwoods @vincent Probably enough for me as well. But I'd have to be away from the internet to escape the news... 🤣

@simonwoods 1 minute too much 😂 I don't know, but I am less and less interested these days. It's just consumerism, everyone has one these days... and it's just boring now. It used to be great, and I loved the fact that it felt niche.

@maique I’m going to watch it, (loosely) today, but although I have intentions of getting both a new iPhone and a new Mac, neither will happen, because I can’t afford it. Unless I win the lottery, that is. 💸

@mpmilestogo Hahahahaha.. So nice of you, and good for her, I'm sure she'll love it. Mind you, I would enjoy (very much so!) getting a new phone every year, but at this point in my life that is just not possible. I was spoiled for years, getting them at a huge discount, while having a nice paycheck. Nowadays... No discount AND no decent pay most of the time makes this a very difficult proposition. I'll wait for the next one!

@vincent I think you’re about 1 or 2 years ahead of me. I’m sure once my wife and I have settled finally with stable income and access to the minimum we want for our lives that I’ll re-focus properly on avoiding the clutter and noise of all this.
