A Finger isn’t a Pointing Device micro.derekpeden
@derekpeden for the record I love the touchscreen, it’s when you had a keyboard that reaching out over the keyboard doesn’t work
@derekpeden humor sometimes just doesn’t work does it? Particularly in asynchronous mode.
‘A Finger isn’t a Pointing Device' - and there we have Robert DeNiro definitely using his finger as a pointing device.
I take full responsibility. I know it's me.
@JohnPhilpin Ahhh, yes you’re too clever by far. For any future reader of this conversation I will had that I’m happy typing on the iPad’s software keyboard but once I have an external keyboard and the software drops away then I no longer want to touch the screen any more than I want to touch my Mac’s screen.
@JohnPhilpin @derekpeden This thread is nice because it's the epitome of why I prefer Micro.blog over Twitter: a misunderstanding turns into mutual understanding via good faith discussion.
@macgenie That's an excellent point, Jean. It might be a good example to link to in your intro article about Twitter vs Micro.blog. It's not too long, kinda fun, with a lovely resolution. Maybe advise them to read it from bottom up, as they'll be used to reading from top down.
@macgenie actually this was less of a disagreement and more a misunderstanding of @johnphilpin ’s sense of humour. But I agree that M.B is way more civil than Twitter. Oh and greetings from the future. 2019 has a lot to live up to!
@derekpeden @macgenie @ron
”Oh, I’m sorry is this a 5 minute argument or the full half hour?”
”a misunderstanding of @johnphilpin ’s sense of humour.”
I should learn. It happens more often than is good for me!
