Got curious about how much a souped-up Mac Studio with 512 GB RAM and 16 TB storage would cost. $29,799.00 Aussie dollars. Oof! Yeah, I might pass on that.
@manton Maybe they’re thinking they could charge more simply because there’s more RAM onboard. While I hear good things about daisy chaining Mac Studios to form a cluster for AI workloads, I can’t imagine 4 x 256 GB Mac Studios would be faster than 2 x 512 GB. Then again, maybe with how slow local models are at the moment, it probably doesn’t matter. 🤷
