@jeffmueller A Vitamix is no ordinary blender. (I won't entertain you with a list of the appliances that you will get excited about when you're 60. šŸ˜)

@jean I now have a daily smoothie, and my Vitamix makes it all happen!

@jeffmueller @lex I just made a batch of mayonnaise in mine. Itā€™s fun.

When I downsized and sold my house, I had to make some tough decisions. I ended up selling my Cuisinart (1988) and keeping the Vitamix (2009). I used the food processor for making pesto and hummus. Iā€™ll have to try with the Vitamix. (It is satisfying to own appliances built to last.)

@jean Important update: I've switched to a Ninja for my smoothies. I love it.

@lex Why?? No, I donā€™t want to know. I was just reflecting how this Vitamix has served me well for 13 years, and I donā€™t want to be tempted by an awesome thing I didnā€™t even think about until now.

@jean I felt blenders were a sick joke played upon consumers with their constant leakage and lame ā€œblendingā€ attempts, until I finally ponied up for a Vitamix.
