Can anyone explain the biological imperative/evolutionary advantage of small children having āIāM NOT TIRED!!!!ā tantrums when they clearly are very much so?

@ross I would love to know he answer to this. It might even help me learn to put down my iPad and go to sleep!
@ross Fear of Missing Out, aka FOMO. It starts early. I'm only now learning how to keep it at bay.
@macgenie i suffer from the much rarer FOJI (Fear of Joing In). Missing out doesn't seem to bother me in the slightest. š¤£
@isaiah OMG, I have that too. It depends on the context. But if it's a party with friends, it's usually FOMO.
@macgenie Is FOMO present in TODDLERS?!?!
I mostly fear missing out on sleep at this point in my life!
@ross They also like to exert control over the world where they can. "You can't make me go to sleep." I think, "I don't have to... hey, how about we go for a ride in the car?" (I have another stint with my 4-year-old nephew this week, and I'm tired already just thinking about it.)
@macgenie Oh yes. I totally know about this. She actually starts with "I'm tired" and wants taking to bed, but then, when overtired and faced with her bed screams "I'M NOT TIRED!!!". Crazy. š¤·āāļø
