Micro.blog for iOS was updated today with some improvements and fixes. Here’s a quick demo video of the new uploads search for Micro.blog Premium subscribers:

@jmanes Yes, for searching by keyword it uses the AI setting to index the photos. With AI disabled, the feature will work for matching other parts of the URL, though, for example searching by year or filename.

@manton Shucks. Still doesn’t work with MT on my iPhone. Will the iOS app have support for Movable Type again in the future?

@kimonostereo I've got a change for WordPress posting that should make it into the next release, so I'll make sure to test MT after that change too. Sorry it's still broken!

@manton looks great! I’d love that copy markdown option for the new post screen with images. I often don’t want the regular “attachment” style because my lightbox plugin uses a markdown render hook.

@jsonbecker Good idea. I wonder if we can put that either in a long-press on the attached photo thumbnail before posting, or the accessibility text screen.

@manton pretty nice features, thanks Manton! Suggestion: copy the alt text, when available, when copying the HTML or Markdown. This would save a lot of back-and-forth just to post an image with alt text.

@otaviocc Thanks. Because the text is auto-generated, I wasn't sure about including it without the user being explicit about copying it, but it makes sense to make this easier.

@manton Oh, yeah, that makes sense. But on the other hand, the M.b editor (online and mobile) isn't WYSIWYG, so the user will see the copy there and will have the opportunity to edit it or even remove it if they don't like it. Another option would be to include a checkmark somewhere (settings?) so the user can opt in or out of the alt text being copied automatically.

@ovr I'm leaning more and more to making that change so that the text is included everywhere automatically, but obviously could be edited.

@pcora @otaviocc @manton +2 a visually-impaired user will appreciate alt text created by AI as opposed to no text at all. It’s fine for Micro.blog to decide the default. I hear it’s called as “opinionated app development” in some circles.

@manton another reason to copy alt text along with the HTML in the iOS app is because it would align with the web behavior. If an alt text exists, the "Copy HTML" button in /updates includes it. Thanks :-)

@manton Ah! I spoke to soon! I'm seeing this in the logs for my feeds Feed: Unknown error 403 Forbidden, Net::HTTPForbidden.

I don't see micro.blog being blocked on Cloudflare, but I did find this recent post about CF and Imunify360. Is there a way to see what micro.blog encounters when trying to get to my feed? Maybe that could help me figure out if it's possible to fix with my current hosting company or any that use Imunify360.
