Great new Micro.blog plug-in from @sod: Search Space! In beta, but I installed it already on my blog to try out and it works really well. Nice upgrade from my old search page plug-in.

@manton @sod I should have a search page now if I understood correctly, correct? I dont see it in mine :sad face:

@Gaby I didn’t get it either, so I made a new page with a link to the URL. @sod I use the Tufte theme, and are on Hugo 0.91, (I think), the latest possible on Micro.Blog at least.

@Gaby It’s over here: gabz.blog/search-sp…

@sod ah!!! I see now!! thank you !!!

@odd @Gaby Ah, you mean in the menu? It’s up to every person to decide where (and if) they want to link to the Search Space page. I could force it into the menu, but then there would be no easy way for users to remove it. Other than changing the plug-in source code.

And remember: it’s a beta. Not at all ready for prime time. Add it to the menu at your own risk. 😉

@odd If you put the URL in the body text of that page, it should redirect automaticly. Just the URL, nothing else: https://www.oddz.blog/search-space/.

@sod Oh, I didn’t know you could do that. Thanks again! 🙏

@kimonostereo Nope, looks interesting!

@manton I got tired of DuckDuckGo dropping my posts in search, so I added it to my archives page. Was easy and works well!

@manton Thanks for sharing and beta testing. Seeing it run on blogs with huge archives like yours encourages me to work on performance and index caching next. 😅
