@nitinkhanna I understand why you did what you did. My default WordPress post category has always been General even though the initial website (2013) was mostly about technology. I have over 3000 posts under General and over 1000 under photography.
@khurtwilliams That tells me that Iāve made the right decision. I went into the system to change to general and for some reason, it didnāt exist! So I created it, so I start from zero today š
@www.nitinkhanna.com šš¾. I donāt have a technology category. Perhaps I will add that.
@www.nitinkhanna.com I also like that your responses are flowing to/from your website. IndieWeb FTW.
@nitinkhanna Thatās a good idea. I'd quite like it if the default was not to have a category at all, but that doesn't seem to be possible.
Orā¦ I was going to say that mine is still set to āUncategorizedā, which I think is the default, and I don't like, and I wish the default could be to have no category. But it seems that now the default is to have no category. I wonder when that changed.
@devilgate Wait, new installs of WordPress allow for no category at all? Thatās odd and interesting! I would love that. Uncategorized has always irked me as too ugly.
@khurtwilliams Boo yah! All thanks to MicroBlogās awesome integration! I didnāt even know that was the case till I checked the m.b app!!
@devilgate categories (and tags) are important if I ever want to get a link to say āall my photography postā, all my posts about āmacOSā etc. This is important when your website gets to 6000+ posts over a 15 year time frame.
@www.nitinkhanna.com Mine is far from a new install, but I just hit āNew Postā yesterday, first in MarsEdit then in the WP console, and no category we ticked.
