A first pass at my own Micro.blog theme. I have more CSS than I actually wanted, but making it readable with just enough CSS was the goal for today. I now need to determine what to add or edit to enable it to work with Micro.blog, so I can upload it.

A blog page features posts about technology, coding, and espresso, along with a header and navigation links.

@matthewlang I really like it! With that design, I doubt you’ll have to mess around with @media queries for mobile, either.

@kev Yeah, that’s the joy of single-column layouts. It’s easy to make them work for mobile. I can see my final basic theme ending up very similar to the current Sumo theme I am using, but with less styling. To be honest, when designing a single-column theme, it’s challenging to make it stand out from other themes.

@jsonbecker Thanks for the offer! I’m using the Micro.blog blank theme as a starting point for this. I hope it covers everything.

@matthewlang oh neat. that sounds like a fun project. I’ve been wanting to build my own theme also. Did you use a CSS framework for it?

@llbbl No CSS framework. I’m intentionally going to stay away from using a CSS framework for this one. I might try using one for the second theme!
