@JohnPhilpin Yeah but I'm think that the fountain pen on it's own should be about stationary. So you know, fountain pens, mechanical pencils, paper, etc.
@kaa @JohnPhilpin Definitely going to be overlap, and I'm sure changes as micro.blog moves forward. I am just trying to capture the community ideas for Emjoitags in a centralized place to help the micro.blog team as they implement more of the tags. I will add your suggestion to the list! What if Stationary, Pens, Pencils, etc were all in a broader single category to aid in discovery? Initially I was thinking that if we broaden the categories a bit would help people branch out their discovery. In this example they clicked on the pencil for writing, and then found great fountain pen content also!
@Burk It could definitely work, but I'm telling you once the stationary geeks get in there, it'll overwhelm the other things :). It's definitely a thing.
@kaa That's awesome! I am honestly looking forward to having so many different kinds of interests on micro.blog! 😃
@kaa … how big is the overlap with the analogue/mechanical watch brigade?
i sense that society is increasingly rejecting the digital only, ‘on demand’, bit only world we have been creating and seeking out the analogue, ‘little bit of work needed’, atom world .
adding to watches and stationery, i am also thinking of ‘album art’, ‘packaging’, ‘live concerts’
but in the same bucket - without a digital equivalent I see ‘craft beer’, ‘artisinal sandwiches‘, ‘slow food’,
thoughts?
@JohnPhilpin I think we've gone to quickly digital that many crave simpler things. Things that concentrated on one thing at a time. Our brains are then given some time to slow down, take stock.
At work, I'm probably the most tech savy of those around me and yet I'm the only one without an iPad on my desk and have no less than 3 different kinds of notebooks and fountain pens and markers.
