@JohnPhilpin Great tribute. The only silver lining is that NZ has changed their gun laws. It cost 50 people their lives, but hopefully no more people will loose their lives for choosing what to believe in.
50 people in New Zealand is roughly .0001% of the population.
Applying that to the US population, we would need a terrorist attack the size of 911.
Bush started a global war over that - and it continues, part of which explains Christchurch.
The US loses 10 times that in gun deaths every year and does nothing.
In absolute terms, The NewZealand response is phenomenal. In comparative terms it is out of this world ... with speed, precision and a country united.
Thankyou for the leadership - sadly, the arrogance of people in power here will ensure that it won’t be followed by the US at least if history has any lessons.
