PCalc, An Origin Story:

Many people using PCalc on their shiny devices today don’t realise that the app has been around for a lot longer than they think. In some cases, a lot longer than they’ve been thinking.

@rknightuk PCalc is so great, and I’ve tried a lot of calculator apps. None of them come close to it.

@kaa +1 for Soulver. I use it to plan our monthly recurring expenses. Works great with multiple currencies too @pimoore

@kaa I used to love Soulver and use it almost daily, but when they pulled the iOS app, it killed it for me. I do miss it.

@kaa I could never get much use out of Soulver, but that’s definitely another great one.

@Mtt So I only found out about this recently. I've been using the old versions with no issues on my device. If you bought it previously I imagine you should be able to download it again no? If not, then they have been offering a testflight version (although that one expires in 6 days, so maybe they re-up it for another 90 days soon?

@kaa Oh nice about the TestFlight. Just joined. Gonna hold off using it until I see if it’s renewed though. Thanks.

@Mtt @kaa @pratik I had to give up on iOS Soulver when I realised the file format and calculation conventions between Mac and iOS differed. So no easy ‘round trip’ calculations.
