After a few months fully vaccinated and feeling invincible, I’ve mostly gone back to wearing a mask indoors. Also, when someone starts coughing at the coffee shop, that’s when I pack up my laptop to head home. Let’s get more people vaccinated and get through this Delta wave. 🙁
@mpmilestogo Glad you're getting the 2nd shot soon! And yeah, this is clearly a worldwide problem and we all benefit the more people are vaccinated everywhere.
@Cheri Here in Texas, masking is probably 10% at most, so it feels a little weird, but I'm okay with it. I figure another couple months of being extra careful can't hurt.
@manton I haven't taken that step yet, but… I find myself tempted. Though in my case, I'm very rarely out in public these days. I think the only public place I've been to in the last two weeks may be one coffee shop visit with family.
@manton Thankfully, I never stopped wearing masks indoors. At least when in large spaces like groceries, big box retailers, etc. But yeah, the spread in Texas sucks. Austin is already at Stage 4 now. I fear for my son who can't yet get vaccinated.
@manton Over here we’re doing pretty well as far as vaccination speed and availability, everyone is getting their shots, and masks are still mandatory indoors, and outdoors when you can’t keep a safe distance from people. It would never cross my mind to stop wearing it already.
@pratik And not long after you replied with that, I got the text message from Austin encouraging people to wear masks even if vaccinated.
@manton This Delta strain seems so infectious it's frightening. And over here we've lagged so much in rolling out vaccines, too 😔 Worrying times.
@verumsolum @manton We never got to the point here when mask mandates were lifted. As a bearded man I can’t stand wearing them, but unfortunately it looks like it will still be a thing for a while. Truth be told I don’t venture out much anyway into public indoor settings, and when I do it’s as short as possible.
Like Manton, I’d be getting the hell outta dodge if someone started hacking somewhere, my tolerance and comfort for that is pretty much nil.
