@manton Iā€™m helping @davoh get started on micro.blog and want to import his Blogger archive which is exported as XML. Any suggestions on best method? I don't know if Blogger XML is the same as WordPress XML?

@jthingelstad @davoh Great, welcome! Unfortunately no, Blogger XML is something different. I don't have a good solution for that right now unless you can find another format converter online somewhere.

@manton I read this and was wondering, so I poked around and came across this Python script. Could be just the thing :) github.com/gniola/Fr...

@jthingelstad A few years ago I imported a Blogger archive into Wordpress. I forget how, exactly, though. But presumably you could then import from there into Micro.blog?

@davidmarsden thanks for the suggestion. I did just that and used a throw away WordPress instance to deal with the import and then export from there. Worked well and @davoh sites has a full archive. Even the images worked through the import chain. Nice! FYI @manton.

@tylerknowsnothing thank you for sharing that! I used a disposable WordPress install and it worked fine but this would have been the backup plan. Now the only further issue is all the ugly HTML embedded in the posts. šŸ˜¬
