Funny UX thing I’ve noticed with micro.blog.
I use the “Reply” feature way more on the web than the macOS app.
I suspect it is the difference between the “inline” interaction on the web opposed to a new window which macOS uses. I much prefer the web interaction. FYI @manton.
@jthingelstad An early version of the Mac app had more of an inline posting box, and we split it out into its own window based on feedback. I could see having reply be a little different.
@manton @jthingelstad A separate window for the Mac app still works. I wish we had an inline option for iOS.
@manton for sure posting a new post should be a new window. The reflection on the inline version in my opinion is only about replies. I would hate to lose a new window for posting. But replying inline feels more connected to what you are replying to.
